Jazz Dance Academy Montreux - Informations
GENERAL

SEASON 2024-25: Enrolments are for a full school year (10 months, from the end of August to June).
The school accepts enrolments during the course of the year, subject to availability of places, under the same conditions as below.
Towards the end of the current school year (May/June), parents will be able to pre-register their children for the new school year (no automatic re-registration, parents must always re-register for the following year).

ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE FEES

An administration fee of CHF 30 or CHF 50 (depending on the program) is charged for each student enrolment for a new season. This fee is annual and renewable from season to season.

ABONNEMENTS ANNUELS ET PAIEMENT

SEASON 2024-2025
Each student must have a correctly completed enrolment form and be familiar with the school rules and general conditions. The validated enrolment form serves as a commitment for the year.
Fees are calculated on an annual basis, spread over 10 months for the 2024-25 season. It takes into account official school holidays and public holidays in the canton of Vaud (see calendar below), which are therefore not deductible.
Payment is either annual or quarterly, in one instalment (at the end of September of the new season) or in three instalments, at the end of August (for 4 months), the end of January (for 3 months) and the end of April (for 3 months).
The exact payment dates will be specified in the invoices given to families in advance.

Late payment: a reminder fee of CHF 10 will be charged for each week's late payment. Continued late payment or non-payment may also result in the student's exclusion, or even referral to the Debt Collection Office if necessary.

WORKSHOPS

Workshops must be paid for in addition to the subscription fee and are priced separately.
They are validated on registration, and the conditions will be specified for each workshops.

DANCE SHOW OF THE SEASON

The school dance show must be paid for in addition to the subscription fees, at a separate rate.
Registration generally takes place around January/February, and details will be given at that time.

DISCOUNT

Jazz Dance Academy Montreux offers several types of discounts on subscriptions, see the chapter on dance programmes and fees for more information.
Discounts are not cumulative.

CANCELLATION/MODIFICATION OF REGISTRATION

Any change of course during the year must be requested in writing by registered letter to the school management (Mrs Kayoko WATANABE), who reserve the right to accept or refuse.

All cancellations must be made by registered letter with a valid and proven reason (moving house, accident, health problem, family reasons). Financial compensation of two months of the cancelled subscription (from the end of the month in which the letter is received) will be requested.

The management reserves the right to refer the matter to the Debt Collection Office in the event of non-payment.

TEST COURSES

Students have the opportunity to take a free trial lesson before enrolling, additional trial courses cost CHF 30.00 per course.

ABSENCES

The pupil (parent or legal guardian) must notify the school of any absence from lessons. Absences on medical grounds (a certificate must be sent to us within one month of the absence) or for reasons beyond the student's control are not deductible from the subscription, but may be made up within the following two months, regardless of the subject. These lessons must be planned with the school management.

Absences other than for medical reasons or force majeure will not be made up.

Courses that fall during official school holidays or public holidays cannot be made up.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SCHOOL

The school does not cover the risks of illness, accident or theft, so each student must be personally insured.
The school cannot be held responsible for any damage, accident or injury caused or sustained during lessons or performances, nor for any theft committed in the cloakrooms or inside the premises. We advise you not to leave any valuables in the changing rooms (handbags, jewellery, money, telephones, etc.).

ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL AND LOCKER ROOMS

Only students enrolled at the school are authorised to use the changing rooms.
Any student wishing to access the premises outside lesson times (for rehearsals, preparation for a competition, private lessons, etc.) must contact the management.

To avoid disrupting classes, students are asked not to enter the dance studios while classes are in progress. Anyone wishing to watch a class is asked to register with the management and must attend the entire class.

The cloakroom must be kept clean (no catering) and tidy, and must only be used by students (parents or families must not stay there, and children must not stay there alone either).

ACCESS TO THE LOCAL AND CLASS ROOMS

Only students registered at the school are allowed access to the changing rooms.
Any pupil wishing to access the premises outside school hours (for rehearsals, preparation for a competition, private lessons, etc.) must contact the management.
In order not to disrupt the classes, it is requested not to enter the dance halls while they are in progress. Persons wishing to watch a class are requested to report to the Management and must then attend the entire class.

MANDATORY CLOTHING

Baby dance and body awareness

  • Girls, light-coloured leotard with or without skirt, pink tights and pink half-points.
  • Boys: white T-shirt, grey or black leggings and black half-points with white soles.
Introduction to ballet
  • Girls: light-coloured leotard with or without skirt, pink tights and pink half-points
  • Boys: white T-shirt/leotard, grey or black tights/leggings and black half-points with white soles.
Introduction to jazz dance
  • Girls, black leotards/brasieres, leggings/shorts and pink half-points
  • Boys, black T-shirt and leggings with black slippers with white soles
Ballet from age 8
  • Girls, leotard without skirt, pink tights and pink half-points
  • Boys: black T-shirt and leggings with black half-points and white soles
Jazz/modern jazz dance from age 8
  • Girls, black leotards/ bras, leggings/shorts and pink rhythmic gymnastics shoes/ballet half-points
  • Boys: black T-shirt and leggings with black shoes with white soles

ACCESS TO COURSES

Inside the school, correct dress and respectful behaviour towards everyone is required. Similarly, mobile phones and other electronic devices must be in airplane/mute mode during classes.
The management can refuse access to the course to a student who does not respect these precepts as well as the others contained in these rules.

Also, in order to allow a better development and learning of the students, the courses are limited to a maximum of 10 to 12 students.

RESPECT OF SCHEDULES AND INSTRUCTIONS

The course starts and finishes at the times indicated in the programme.

The management also reserves the right to refuse access to the course to a student who arrives late without a valid reason.
The level of the students and the distribution in the classes are decided by the teacher and he/she alone is entitled to direct the students and the latter are required to comply with the directives. If the technical level of the student does not correspond to that of the course in which he/she is registered, he/she will be redirected to a more appropriate course.

The management also reserves the right to refuse access to the course to a student who arrives late without a valid reason, or even to exclude him/her for a longer period of time if the student's behaviour is detrimental to the smooth running of the course (no reimbursement can be demanded for this period).

COURSE CANCELLATION BY THE DIRECTION

Courses may be cancelled or twinned if there are not enough students.

HYGIENE AND INTEGRITY OF THE WORK PLACE

Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the dance halls, only indoor shoes, sneakers (or other, depending on the type of course) are allowed for the classes.
Food, sweet drinks and chewing gum are forbidden in the dance halls, and in general the cleanliness of the premises and the equipment provided must be respected.

IMAGE RIGHT

All photos and videos taken within the framework of the Jazz Dance Academy Montreux school, during classes, shows and workshops, may be used as advertising for the school, unless otherwise specified in writing by the student or his/her legal representative.

Parents and pupils are not allowed to take photos or videos during lessons (except at the express request of the head teacher or teacher).
