SEASON 2023-24: Enrolment is for a full school year (10 months, from the end of August to June). The school accepts registrations during the year, depending on the availability of places, under the same conditions as below. Towards the end of the current school year (May/June), parents can pre-register their children for the new school year (no automatic re-registration, parents must always make a new registration for the following year).
An administration fee of CHF 30 is charged for each student's registration for a new season, is annual and renewable from season to season.
2023-2024 SEASON
Each student must have a correctly completed registration form and be aware of the internal regulations and general conditions.
The validated registration form constitutes a commitment for the year. The calculation of the fees is done on an annual basis spread over 10 months for this season 2023-24. It takes into account official school holidays and public holidays (see calendar below) which are therefore not deductible. The payment is annual or quarterly, so it can be paid in one instalment (end of August of the new season) or in three instalments, end of August (for 4 months), beginning of January (for 3 months) and beginning of April (for 3 months). The exact dates of payment will be specified in the invoices that will be given to families in advance.

Late payment: a reminder fee of CHF 10 will be charged for each week of late payment. Continued late payment or non-payment may also lead to the exclusion of the student, or even to the seizure of the Debt Collection Office if necessary.
Non-subscribing adult students can take a course for the price of 30 CHF. To do so, they must register once via the registration form and choose their course and date. If they want to take another course later, they can send an email to inscription@jdamontreux.ch to indicate this, and it will be accepted depending on the places available.
The Management reserves the right to accept or not an Open course, depending on the activity of the course in question.
Payment: payments before the start of the course.
Workshops are to be paid in addition to the subscription fees with a separate rate.
Registration is usually done around January/February, and information will be provided at that time.
Jazz Dance Academy Montreux offers several types of discounts on subscriptions, see the chapter on dance programmes and fees for more information.
Discounts are not cumulative.
Any change to a course during the year must be requested in writing by registered letter to the school.
All cancellations must be made by registered letter with a valid and proven reason for the cancellation (moving house, accident, health problem, family reasons). Financial compensation of two months of the cancelled subscription (from the end of the month in which the letter is received) will be requested.
Students have the opportunity to do a free trial lesson before their final registration.
The student (parent or legal guardian) must notify the school of any absence from classes. Absences are not deductible from the subscription fee but can be made up within two months, whatever the subject. These courses must be planned with the school management.
Courses falling on official school holidays or public holidays cannot be made up. In the event of force majeure (accident or illness requiring a break of more than two weeks) and on the basis of a medical certificate, absences may be made up within two months in all disciplines (no refunds will be made). In this case, the certificate must be sent to us within one month of the absence.
The school does not cover the risks of illness, accident or theft, therefore each student must be personally insured.
The school is not responsible for any damage, accidents or injuries caused or suffered during the lessons or during the shows as well as for any theft committed in the changing rooms and inside the premises. It is advisable not to leave any valuables in the changing rooms (handbags, jewellery, money, telephones, etc.).
Only students registered at the school are allowed access to the changing rooms.
Any pupil wishing to access the premises outside school hours (for rehearsals, preparation for a competition, private lessons, etc.) must contact the management.
In order not to disrupt the classes, it is requested not to enter the dance halls while they are in progress. Persons wishing to watch a class are requested to report to the Management and must then attend the entire class.
Baby dance and body awareness
Inside the school, correct dress and respectful behaviour towards everyone is required. Similarly, mobile phones and other electronic devices must be in airplane/mute mode during classes.
The management can refuse access to the course to a student who does not respect these precepts as well as the others contained in these rules.
Also, in order to allow a better development and learning of the students, the courses are limited to a maximum of 12 students.
The course starts and finishes at the times indicated in the programme.
The management also reserves the right to refuse access to the course to a student who arrives late without a valid reason.
The level of the students and the distribution in the classes are decided by the teacher and he/she alone is entitled to direct the students and the latter are required to comply with the directives. If the technical level of the student does not correspond to that of the course in which he/she is registered, he/she will be redirected to a more appropriate course.
The management also reserves the right to refuse access to the course to a student who arrives late without a valid reason, or even to exclude him/her for a longer period of time if the student's behaviour is detrimental to the smooth running of the course (no reimbursement can be demanded for this period).
Courses may be cancelled or twinned if there are not enough students.
Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the dance halls, only indoor shoes, sneakers (or other, depending on the type of course) are allowed for the classes.
Food, sweet drinks and chewing gum are forbidden in the dance halls, and in general the cleanliness of the premises and the equipment provided must be respected.
All photos and videos taken within the framework of the Jazz Dance Academy Montreux school, during classes, shows and workshops, may be used as advertising for the school, unless otherwise specified in writing by the student or his/her legal representative.
